Founded as a group of sober living homes for men in early recovery, RECO Institute has maintained status as a leader in transitional living, and has expanded to include 3 male houses and 2 female houses. The housing is offered in conjunction with our intensive outpatient aftercare program, RECO Intensive.

For individuals beginning their path toward recovery, aftercare is a crucial step in maintaining long-term sobriety. Relapse rates for those suffering from drug addiction, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), can be as high as 40-60%.

Many believe that aftercare can be the most crucial step of all.

Aftercare and How It Works

Upon completing detox or residential addiction treatment, an individual can be left with many “what ifs” regarding their future in sobriety. Getting sober presents different challenges to all areas of life, including self-discovery and perception, personal relationships, evolving responsibilities, etc. Leaving the controlled environment of treatment can often lead to a shocking re-introduction to life in sobriety.

While in a higher level of care, an individual expends a vast majority of their energy on healing the body, mind, and spirit, though these healing processes must continue long after the individual has completed residential treatment or detox. Recovery is a lifelong process, and must be treated as such in order to ensure the best possible chances at long-term sobriety.

Aftercare programs exist to allow the individual to continue the crucial healing processes of addiction treatment while also introducing them to renewed senses of responsibility and accountability for their actions.

While attending aftercare or intensive outpatient programming, clients will participate in both group and individual therapy sessions. In most cases, these programs are paired with sober housing, such as the facilities of RECO Institute, and provide the client with needed structure and a completely sober environment.

The RECO Institute Residential Housing Facilities

RECO Institute provides clients with the tools to support their sobriety. When looking for an aftercare program to suit an individual’s needs, it is important to focus on the bigger picture—which includes a commitment to one’s personal goals in recovery.

Residential housing facilities for transitional living are a terrific solution for those who need continued support and a sense of community. The world of recovery is full of unknowns—creating a space in which an individual can prepare for those unknowns is key to long-term success.
